Firehouse Dog Publishing Donates One of a Kind Item to the Keep Kids Fire Safe™ Foundation

A one of a kind item will be donated to the Keep Kids Fire Safe™ Foundation. While in Omaha, Glenn Trembley, autographed for the first time, several copies of the audio book, Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog. This audio book was made by three generations of firefighters, including Trembley, Children's Author Firefighter Dayna Hilton and her son, Michael. This audio book is special in that it is the very first copy that was signed. This audio book will also be signed by Firefighter Dayna, Firefighter Michael and will be pawed by Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog. This one of a kind audio book will be used later at an auction for the Keep Kids Fire Safe™ Foundation to help raise money to help the foundation's fire safety efforts.

Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog, Tango and myself, along with the assistance from firefighters from the Tulsa Fire Department, made a fire safety program at Celia Clinton Elementary. This program was sponsored by our good friends from the Rotary Club of Tulsa.

We enjoyed our visit back to the school and had the best time! To learn more about this incredible day, click on the picture of the Tulsa World newspaper below.

Sparkles and Firefighter Dayna Guests on Sprout's Sunny Side Up Show

I am so excited that many of the fire safety videos from Sprout's Fire Safety Week (aired on the Sunny Side Up Show with Kevin and Chica in October of this year) are up on the Sprout website. Check them out and share with everyone you know! There are a few more and I am hoping that the good folks at Sprout will add them as well.

Thanks, Sprout, for helping spread the fire safety message!

Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog Book Review

There's nothing more than Sparkles and I enjoy than reading a review of our children's fire safety book, Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog. We recently received this review by Kiyoko Czech from Chicago, Illinois.

"Our family loves Sparkles... my son first met her while watching Sprout and so when we heard she had a book, we of course had to go and get it. Sparkles and Firefighter Dayna make fire safety fun and not scary. My son knows what to do if there is a fire - Get low and go!!! For fire safety month, we donated this book to all the classrooms at my son's daycare. All the teachers love it!! The large pictures make it easy to read to a class so everyone can see. Thanks Sparkles andFirefighter Dayna for keeping our kids safe!!! "

Thanks, Kiyoka for this great review! What a great idea to donate the book to your son's daycare and what a wonderful way to help share the fire safety message!

If you would like to write a review of Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog, please send it to us at review@firehousedogpublishing.com. We would love to hear from you too!

Firehouse.com Playing it Safe Blog

I am very excited to be one of the "Official Firehouse Bloggers" for Firehouse.com. On the Playing it Safe blog, I will be sharing fire safety programming ideas and initiatives, low cost fire safety programming ideas and what’s new in fire safety. I truly appreciate Firehouse.com for providing fire safety educators with this resource, and I encourage you to join me as we travel to fire departments across the country to feature their innovative fire safety efforts. If you are a fire safety educator, or are responsible for fire safety programming, together, we’ll learn about their programs and hopefully gain some new ideas to implement into your fire safety programming.

Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog Visits the Roosevelt Thompson Library

Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog, Tango and children's author, Dayna Hilton, visited the Roosevelt Thompson Library in Little Rock, November 7th. Firefighter Dayna read from the book, Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog, sang fire safety songs, handed out trading cards and stickers and let the children pet Sparkles. So much fun!
